Hi Ron; A good way to find out if the vacumn petcock is sticky or defective is to switch the valve over to PRI (prime) position. This will allow unrestricted fuel to flow into the carburetor, the only thing stopping it will be the needle valve in the float chamber. If it runs normal, then you know where the problem is. The fuel filter attached to the petcock can be cleaned by blowing with compressed air after removing the petcock from the tank . This might be your problem. Sometimes the diaphram inside the petcock gets sticky, try one thing then another, luck, Frank M.
